Have Your Real Estate Listing Work for You Instead of Against

Are you in the market to sell your home, but are not sure of how to best describe your home in the listing? There are many mistakes that sellers make in the current real estate market that may have worked during the housing boom, but is only hurting their chances now. Here are some examples of mistakes that wave a red flag to buyers instead of drawing them in:

  • Pricing your home too low:
During the real estate boom, you might could list your home rock bottom and get a bidding war started with interested buyers. Now, this risky strategy could backfire and you could find yourself not attracting any buyers because they fear a bidding war. Also you could lessen your chances for selling your home at all because the price could only attract unqualified buyers.
  • Exaggerated Claims:
Use hyperbolic claims with caution because stating that your home is “the best” or other far fetched claims will only leave the buyer disappointed. It could wave a red flag to buyers and have them not even consider looking at your home at all.
